The Wine Maker Special Visit

The wine history of Casa de Mateus told and led by winemaker José Carlos Fernandes. An opportunity to taste a selection of wines made by the winemaker that will lead you to discover the terroirs of the Douro and Casa de Mateus, accompanied by a visit to the vineyard and the Vineyard Museum, and to the Winery, which dates back to the 16th century.

Includes a 25-minute audio-guided tour of the House Museum.

It also includes free access to the Casa de Mateus park and Chapel, including some of the National Monument's interior spaces such as the old Frasqueira and Casa das Batatas. You can also visit the gardens, vegetable garden and vineyards, including the open-air vineyard museum and the forest. NOTE: The Chapel is only open from April to October, so outside this period, you should ask to book your visit when you buy your ticket.

You can visit the Casa de Mateus park with an audio guide and itinerary that will help you discover our gardens, history and heritage. There are 23 points of interest in Portuguese, French, English and German.
